The DMS is. . .

A new therapeutic machine researched and developed by Dr. Jake Pivaroff,  DC.Dr.

What does the DMS do?

  Accurately shows posture deficiencies. This posture gauge graphically measures the posture curves and lean. The graphing is done with the patient standing in front of the Pneu-M.A.P. ™ Both the patient and the clinician can see how the patients posture compares to the ideal posture.  The Pneu-Map™ provides simple diagnosis and documentation.

  Research shows there is a definite correlation between pain and posture.  The MAP was created to make the patient’s postural deficiencies visual (and therefore understood by the patient), as well as providing reliable documentation. The MAP can be used for measuring AP postural curves in standing and sitting postures as well as ROM of the thoracic spine and also for measuring lateral curves such as scoliosis.  The MAP provides a way to do a non-invasive measurement of a Scoliotic curve.  A recent study done at the University of Montana has shown a high correlation when comparing the MAPs ability to measure a Scoliotic curve and X-Rays of a Scoliotic curve. 

  There are 5 areas pinpointed during the mapping procedure: Cervical, Upper and Lower Thoracic, Lumbar and Sacral.  The apices of these curves are entered into the Pneu-Back™ software to print a graph of the patient’s spine.  The software is simple to use, with the ability to visually display a comparison between pre treatment and post treatment postures on one sheet.  Also the MAP measures the forward or reverse lean of each patient.  The more lean in a persons spine, the more likely they are to complain of pain.  Using the printout from the MAP software you can treat a patient for their postural imbalances.  The MAP also gives the suggested protocols for the Pneu-Back Chair™ based on the patients’ postural analysis.
